Population and geography
Dijon, capital of the Bourgogne Franche Comté region, more precisely the Côtes d'Or department (21), it is located on the Paris Lyon Mediterranean axis, it has a strategic regional position, since it is a crossroads between the region Rhône Alpes, the Paris region and eastern France.
Its municipal population is 156,920 inhabitants in 2017 and its urban area has a population of 243,376 inhabitants in 2017.
Its neighboring municipalities are: Ahuy, Fontaine-lès-Dijon, Talant, Plombières-lès-Dijon, Corcelles-les-Monts, Chenôve, Neuilly-lès-Dijon, Longvic, Sennecey-lès-Dijon, Saint-Apollinaire, Quetigny, Chevigny -Saint-Sauveur, Ruffey-lès-Echirey, Asnières-lès-Dijon and Bellefond.
Ideally located, Dijon is served by the A31, A38 and A39 motorways, among others.
The bus network includes 30 regular lines and 2 tram lines in particular.
